Thomas James Amson, Mineral Water Manufacturer, Burslem
Thomas James Amson was born in 1808 and passed away on 21st December 1894 aged 84. He is buried in St John the Baptist's churchyard cemetery alongside his wife, Mary Amson, and daughter Mary Agard
Thomas traded from Market Place in Burslem, although the 1872 trade directory confirming this lists him as a 'Job Master', which was someone who owned horses and/horse-drawn vehicles for hire. It is known that mineral water manufacturer John Podmore also operated horse-drawn taxis, and operated from the Leopard Inn in Market Place, so potentially he may have acquired Amson's business concerns
