Crapper & Brierley were dental surgeons who operated from a building called the White House in Piccadilly, Hanley.
Originally trading as Crapper and Company, they occupied premises on High Street Shelton (now Broad Street) from at least 1860. The property became known as the White House by 1876, and was offered for sale after Crapper's death in 1891
They are known in bottle collecting circles due to their pictorial pot lids which were used on pots to sell their own line of 'Antiseptic Rose Tooth Paste, which shows they also had premises in Piccadilly at some point. The lid has a pictorial of a lady to the centre as shown in this image
